Default IE got busted

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060123/...ts_subway_ride

Leave it to the cops to overreact to some folks with no pants.

MSNBC is also carrying the story:

Police halt annual ‘No Pants Subway Ride’
Eight pranksters cited for disorderly conduct
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10982612/

It did seem like a major over-reaction on the part of the police. I guess it's a sad commentary on the times we live in that people in their underwear constitute a threat.

I only felt threatened because I couldn't find my pants...

The NY Post has the same story but a better photo, showing the arrest:

I think a show should be made to honor this monumental day.

Sadly I've seen this disaproval for public display of boxers before as my old radio station was busted durring the second annual naked run on Valentines Day.Oddly enough, though, the campus police still marched the four running DJs across campus in just their boxers while their boombox was playing "It's Raining Men."

Stand tall my pantless borthers and sisters!

"Todd, a teacher and performer, said the police overreacted when they turned a harmless event into something that inconvenienced lots of subway riders. A judge will determine whether those issued summonses will be punished."

So the only questions left to answer are how long before LAW AND ORDER writes an episode "inspired by actual events" and will the IE agents get to play themselves?

You know what also inconveniences a lot of subway riders?

A lot MORE of subway riders?

Charlie, please keep us (and the media) informed about the court dates... I'm betting the charges will be dismissed or there will be a slap on the wrists.

This is a great example of good ridiculous (wearing boxer shorts in a subway) and bad ridiculous (being arrested for it).

People were talking about this when I got to the office and I got to say "I know Charlie Todd."

Ah, name-dropping.
