- Bergeron bringing his spastic, white-man energy to Van Halen once again and changing the meaning of the song out of sheer Green Lantern-style will power.

-AJ playing that amazing glockenshpeil thing during Will's beautiful, romantic TMBG rave-up and Ptolomy's equally fantastic Arcade Fire tribute. And they all had LEAVES draped over them!

-Terra turning Journey into a religious experience for me. Her song made me cry a little!

There are plenty more, lets start a thread about them here...

Terry, I know I already thanked you a million times tonight, but I want to say again that this is always my favorite night of the year. Thank you so much for involving me in something so absolutely perfect and joyous and magic.

-----

There were no bad songs at all (unlike some past ETVs... the duds will remain nameless!)... I think we've all gotten better at this, so the quality bar has been raised. Everyone did a phenomenal job. Especially the band... Kula, Goodman, Ernie... who make learning 23 songs in a month and doing a tight show look pretty easy. (In fact, they do make it easier!)

Other people I talked to cited Goodman's rendition of "Time" as a great moment... for the fact that he did a great job, but also the audacity to do it (complete with opening sound effects)! I was told "you completely won over the crowd on that song." Another person I talked to loved Jessica's Pat Benatar. It was definitely a great song and great job by Jess. Will Hines was cited as a standout on his TMBG song. A lot of people loved Ernie on keyboards throughout. They were blown away.

Too many highlights. It sounded really good (maybe the best it has sounded?) and of course I had a good time! Thanks to those who participated and all those who came.

Happy Birthday Terry!

-Damon was awesome and in multiple capacities.
-Maddy and green day should have babies together.
-The ETV band, Jinn, Kula, Goodman, and Ernie played a solid set all night long
-The sound guy. Who made it look easy.
- Jen and her "middle finger" manuever
-Jump. Berg. Who not only looks like a young Dave, but sounds like him too.
-Terry's aunt who bought all the tables chicken wings.
-Wake Up. Ptolemy always makes me laugh, even when he's serious. I dont think i could ever improvise with him, because I'd just laugh the whole time. P.S. Where the hell did those vines come from??!?
-And last but not least, Terry Jinn. The guitarist who took no prisoners last night while shredding out like 20 guitar solos. Happy Birthday Buddy. I know I make you pull your hair out sometimes, but it's not on purpose. Thanks for inviting me back this year, and its always fun to play guitar with you.

Everyone was fantastic. I did especially love Rock & Roll Louie (which sounds to me like it should be an action figure, This is good.).

Don't Stop Believing is running through my hangover-riddled head. This is good.

Thanks to all for rocking so hard.

Since You Been Gone. Nice one, Eliza.

Rosemary Stevens and her Paul Stanley make-up! "I like to Rock n Roll all night and party some of the time."

The band. The big smile on Terry's face. The back up singers during Ptolemy's song.

Damon - book ends.

Yay!

Happy Birthday, Terry! Thanks so much for throwing this awesome party and letting your friends be rock stars and bask in the glow of your guitar.

OOOPS!
This is Maddy.

Everyone keeps beating me to my highlights!
But I've got the jump on you suckers! How about:

Rebekka Johnson rocking WAY harder than Tom Petty ever did!

Rocco plus an infamous ultra-cool indie-rock song about masturbation? A match made in heaven.

Chuck D & Jawnee. Awww.

Doug Moe proving he is the punkest baby daddy any of us know.

Yammy! Malibu!

Lynn & JB taking it to the streets all night long! I hardly learned the words to MY song - they knew a whole BUNCH of songs. Nice.

This show was SO MUCH FUN!!

First, the band, the band, the band. Ernie (while playing his solo on Jump, I heard someone just go "OH MY GOD"), Kula (SF!!!), Dan and TERRY!!

JB and Lynn backing up everyone sounding amazing and looking so adorable in their head gear.

Tiffany Morningstar's amazing outfit that complimented Louis. They were awesome.

Everyone was SOOO good.

James Eason closed the first half with American Band, brought down the house!

Damon singing Highway to Hell was amazing and my dad sang along...knew EVERY WORD.

J Allen looked and sounded so amazing that I wanted to just eat her alive.

Rebekkah was the most adorable thing I've ever seen and made my roommate endlessly happy by singing Tom Petty.

TERRY JINN!!!!!!!!!!!

The plates of Mini burgers that kept me from getting too drunk before it was my turn to sing.

Alex Marino! Rosie! Doug Moe! Bergeron! Ptolemy! WTF? How do you name everyone??? Jen MacNeil who is so sweet singing angry and wonderful. Tony Carnavale was awesome. Everybody ruled so hard Saturday night. It was THE BEST TIME.

I have to say, I didn't hear it, but all the reports of my dad yelling "That's my baby girl!" followed by him immediately going to the corner to send photos from his phone to everyone in the family was really special for me. He had a great time, and kept exclaiming "I actually knew three whole songs in the first act!!!" So proud of himself. (which three? Highway to Hell, Like a Prayer, and American Band)

Also, my dad said, "Tell me something. How long have these guys been playing together?" I said, "They rehearse and play together every year for this show..." He was floored. Kept going on and on about all the bands in Ft Smith, Arkansas (ha) that have been together sometimes as long as ten years that don't sound even half as good as the ETV band.

My friend Lacy calling me the next day to tell me about all the bands he found on Craig's List that need lead singers (he said, "most of these songs sound better than the ORIGINALS!")

Thanks, Terry. Happy Birthday!

How does it happen that every year on Terry's birthday WE get all the gifts??

The whole show was one gigantic highlight. I think Terry is correct that the standard has been raised. Is there anything more fun than being a rock star for one night? I submit there is not!

Next year will undoubtedly be a lot more like American Idol.

...Kept going on and on about all the bands in Ft Smith, Arkansas (ha) that have been together sometimes as long as ten years that don't sound even half as good as the ETV band.
ETV tours Ft. Smith, Arkansas!!

The show was recorded to DAT tape. I have no DAT player, so I can't confirm that it was well recorded (or actually recorded at all.)

I have to find a place in town that will convert that over to CD... and then I can make mp3s.

So, yes... the show, theoretically, was recorded and mp3s will be forthcoming.
