I have Adobe for my video editing. I want to be able to put my video on my webpage. I have the code to embede a media player in my page, but I can't figure out how to get my video to be in the correct format to play on it. I am very new at this so please use baby terms when explaining.

Export your project as an .avi (windows compatible, compressed media file). Go to the File menu, and Export. Export as a 15 fps, 320x240 .avi file.
Now you have several options. You can take that file and feed it through: QuickTime Pro, Sonic Foundry Stream Anywhere, Media Cleaner Pro, RealProducer, etc etc... there are several prep programs for streaming media.
Do you have a Mac or PC? What follows is primarily PC compatible information.
Go to www.kazaa.com or another peer-to-peer software site. When Kazaa is installed, search software for Media Cleaner EZ. They make a special version just for processing stuff directly from Premiere. I don't know the exact command for that but it's in the Premiere help. You'll need Media Cleaner EZ first. For that matter, while you're downloading, you might as well get Premiere 6.1, Media Cleaner Pro, and Sonic Foundry Stream Anywhere. I think Stream Anywhere is the best Windows Media/Real Encoder. It's a little limited in terms of its out of the box encoding but it's a nice, relatively fast, piece of software. You could also go to http://microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia and download the FREE Windows Media Encoder 8. It does a nice job but only encodes ".wmv" files. This only matters to people who still like, support or cling to the .asf file format (Windows Media v2-7).
Process your .avi to the specifications of your embed tags. For example, if the embed code specifies that it wants a QuickTime file, with a pixel size of 176x144, you should encode it that way. You could also change or throw out the embed code, and just spawn a player from the web page, unless it's some really snazzy code integrated with Media Skins. By throwing out the embed tags, you could create multiple text hyperlinks for your media at multiple speeds and formats and not take up much space on your webpage. (Cable modem is about 250kbps, window size 320x240. Dual ISDN is 80-120Kbps, window size 240x180. 56K dialup is about 39Kbps, window size 176x132 or 176x144.)
Have a good one.
