I picked up a MiniDV camera on Saturday (Sony DCR-TRV17) to start shooting a number of video projects I've been wanting to work on. So, I got the camera and wanted to start using it right away, but the stuff I wanted to shoot was not immediate, not something I could just do spontaneously, or right away. Other eventual uses include taping sets to send to Mr. Pitts so that we might make it into the showcase at CIF V.

So, I came up with a concept that I am calling the Guerilla Interviews, which are spontaneous interviews with people in the improv community in Toronto and, eventually, in other parts of the world. I will be shooting these videos and documenting the lives of people I find interesting and that are doing things to further themselves in their careers.

The first subject happens to be the talented women of Mop and Broom Productions -- a growing force in Toronto's comedy community -- Tracey Nolan and Sandra Battaglini. They are the first subjects simply because we bumped into them when we went to the Subway for some grub.

Watch them reveal their secrets of success and talk about their company, their upcoming sketch comedy show Okay Chlamidia!, the Howl, and improv. Also, find out about Sandra's sercet obsession for Mick Napier.

Please, please, please, if you download the video, let me know what you think of the concept and if you could offer any suggestions on how I might improve the interview responses, let me know. I have some ideas in mind for next time, but the more the merrier.

Thanks in advance.

I just received an email from a Mac user. Is this video not working for Mac users? Any ideas on how to encode it to work for both?

I finally got the file size down even smaller than it was before, but the good news is now it's encoded as a Windows Media Video, with decent video and sound, PLUS it's a streaming media file, so there is no long download required before playing it.

AND everyone, one any system is able to play and watch it, as long as they have Windows Media Player (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/en/download/default.asp) installed on their system (that includes Mac OS 8.1 and later and *Nix boxes).

Thanks for the feedback and enjoy the show (http://www.impatients.com/videos/).
